Our Identity

Founded in 1953, Epiphany began with a membership of eight families as a parochial mission of the Church of the Nativity in Dothan. In 1958, it became a Diocesan Mission and was no longer tied to the mother church.  We are part of the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast, seated in Pensacola, Florida.

Our bishop is the Rt. Rev. James Russell Kendrick.

Our vicar is Fr. John W. Withrock Jr.

We seek to share Christ Crucified and God's reconciling love for all through effective ministry, leader- ship, stewardship and communication.

We are called to:

  • provide and to sustain ministries that empower people to share the Good News of God in Christ Jesus

  • develop Lay leadership to lead the way of making Christ Jesus known

  • proclaim a theology of stewardship that includes sound principles of Christian living involving the whole person (mind, body and spirit)

  • offer comfortable refuge and welcoming presence for the military personnel at Fort Rucker

  • present a hospitable Episcopal presence through a welcoming congregation and visible community outreach.
